Agriculture

Agriculture remains the largest economic contributor in Lawrence County. Row crops of rice, soybeans and wheat are predominant, but the county also has hay farmers.

In addition, Lawrence County also boasts many livestock producers with cattle and poultry being dominant.

Agriculture support industries are also prevalent in the county including implement dealers, chemical dealers, seed companies, farm supply providers, land leveling and agriculture aviation.

The county also has strong agriculture-related programs for youth including a thriving 4-H program, offered through the local Extension Service, and Future Farmers of America organizations in the local school districts.
